In my opinion, Disney has developed several ways to target its core consumers. Firstly,Disney starts to involve new business to make customers interested. In 1937, Disneyintroduced the first full-length animated film, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs andthen led to other animated classics, live action films and television series such asPinocchio, Mary Poppins and The Love Bug, and Davy Crockett. As soon as Disneyrealizes their demands, it introduces Disney Channel, Touchstone Pictures, andTouchstone Television. Many movies have been published in the name of TouchstonePictures such as Splash. Its releases are typically more adult oriented than those under theDisney label. In addition, it’s the pricing policy of Disney that has successfully reached awhole new generation of children. For example, classic films on video are sold atextremely low prices which is affordable for majority of family to watch these movies. Secondly, to achieve quality and recognition, Disney has focused on the DisneyDifference. Taking advantage of Disney Difference can make consumers easy todistinguish Disney from its rivals, which leaves Disney a competitive advantage.Nowadays, Disney consists of five business segments like Studio Entertainment, Parksand Resorts, Consumer Product, Media Networks, and Interactive. The diversification ofits strength enhances chances for all kind of customers to select services and its products, and ultimately attains their loyalty. Once Disney attracts those consumer’s attention, theywill become its customers sooner or later. For instance, Hannah Montana provides anexcellent example.
