The grapes represent pulmonary alveoli. The stems could be considered as representing terminal bronchioles or alveolar ducts. Itβs a crude analogy, though; the alveoli are really more like a cluster of adhering soap bubbles with shared interfaces than they are like grapes, which are separate spheres each with their own individual walls.
