hello friend brainlystar here

here's your answer

global warming is taking a serious troll in today's life and world.
The earth receives and absorbs the Sun's rays in the form of Short waves during insolationwhich have short wavelength and hence do not get absorbed by the atmosphere. however at night this heat gets radiated from the surface of the earth during terrestrial radiation in the form of long waves. long waves have greater wavelength and hence get trapped on the lower levels of the atmosphere hence increasing the temperature of the earth. greenhouse gases are present there like carbon dioxide which entrap heat and assist in further increase of temperature. thus the heat gets trapped there like a shield and causes global warming.

hope it helps. follow @peetakatniss4ever
