• A kingdom contains many phyla. In a phylum, there are many classes. A class contains many orders and an order has many families. A family comprises of many genera and a genus may have many species. These ranks are arranged on above the other according to their sizes. This arrangement of different groups, one above the other, is called Hierarchy.
