what does innisfree symbolize?
Answers
The cabin on the lake symbolizes the simple life, a life free of distraction and troubles. Symbolism is an object that has a meaning larger than itself. Just as the cabin is simple, “of clay and wattles made,” this life allows us to rely on nothing more than ourselves. We have, as is repeated in the poem, “peace there.” Peace, solitude, and nothing but the sound of the waves lapping.
Innisfree symbolises tranquility and a simple life which is rather better than the chaos of civilization. Innisfree is actually a name of a place. Here the poet wants to arise and go to Innisfree in order to live his life in the beauty of the nature, apart from the drone of civilization. He wants to live in a place which is surrounded with the drone of bees which makes melodious sound according to the poet which is enough for him to stay soundly in that place apart from the dull and grey town full of chaos.
