The Indian judiciary consists of a Supreme Court for the entire nation, High Courts in the states, District Courts and the courts at local level. India has an integrated judiciary. It means the Supreme Court controls the judicial administration in the country.

It only means that the Judicial System of this country is a unified whole. The SC is at the Apex with the HCs in each State, with defined jurisdiction. While each court, subservient to the HC, in the State is to acknowledge their supremacy , they would, in turn, follow the expressed legal acumen/ guidelines of the SC. There would be an

unified system of administration of justice as that of the administration of the infrastructure, under the leadership of the SC. Judiciary is to grow as an organic whole rather than a distinct mechanical conglomeration.
