What does it mean for government to become destructive, and why do the states believe they must declare independence from Britain?

I got you. bro, so they declared independence from Britain because even though they were there own colonies Britain tried to maintain control over them by taxing everything like bread tea and sugar, so they got mad and that's why the Boston tea party happened, they thought the government was corrupt because Britain would send tax collectors to get taxes, that's were feather and tar became popular amongst the people because they would tar and feather the tax collectors
