what does it mean when spmeone says a fish is surface feeder , bottom feeder and mid zone feeder ??????

Surface feeder means the fishes feeds on that food that is available on the surface of the sea such as some algae ,some invertebrates .
Mid feeder means the fishes feeding in mid Zone.
Bottom develers means that the fishes feeding on crustaceans ,molluscs, and other animals present in bottom
This separation reduces competition for food among fishes
