What does it mean when you dream about someone dying who is already dead?

I had reoccurring dreams like this after a good friend of mine passed away young. Usually I’d be attending his second funeral in the dreams, astonished that he’d died again immediately after returning to us. Each time his second funeral seemed cheap in a way, and in one dream I'd aked and we were on his sixth or seventh resurrection and death--we'd lost count.
What it ultimately meant, which ended the dreams to understand, was that his death was completely inevitable.
