What does Lateral Surface Area mean?what is the difference between Lateral and total surface area?

Lateral Surface Area includes the area of shape excluding the top and bottom faces.

Lateral Surface Area = Area excluding top and bottom faces.

Total Surface Area = Area of all faces.

Here's your answer...

The full form of LSA is lateral surface area.

Here we calculate the area of the figure. But we won't include top and bottom.

The full form of TSA is total surface area.

Here we find the area. We include the top and bottom.

We can simply say that TSA is the total area and LSA is the total area but excluding top and bottom.

We don't take top and bottom of the figure into consideration in LSA.
