Lencho has complete faith in God. After the hailstorm had destroyed his produce,  he was devastated at the scene. He didn't have enough money or food to recover from the situation. He knew the only solution was God. His sense of faith can be seen as he writes a letter to God. In it, he requests from him a sum of hundred pesos. He then goes to the post office to send his letter. When the postmaster saw the letter, he was shocked whilst admiring his faith in God. He decided not to shake Lencho's faith by gathering a probable sum of seventy pesos with help from the other employees. He puts it in the letter and even signs it with 'God' so that Lencho would know.
