Ribosomal RNA (rRNA) associates with a set of proteins to form ribosomes. These complex structures, which physically move along an mRNAmolecule, catalyze the assembly of amino acids into protein chains. They also bind tRNAs and various accessory molecules necessary for protein synthesis.

Protein synthesis wouldn't be possible without the help of messenger RNA, or mRNA for short. ... Ribosomes are where proteins are produced. mRNA is important because ribosomes can't reach the DNA inside our cell nucleus, which is the location inside the cell where DNA is housed.
