The whole observed history of our universe shows that nature builds from the bottom up. In other words, evolves! Right through from the evolution of chemical elements in the first stars to the present evolution of the Internet.

Certainly their are occasional apparent top-down processes - in biology the probable evolution of viruses from organisms with a lipid cell wall is an example.

But even in these cases the overall outcome can be shown to be bottom-up.
