Hey

Exothermic reactions:

Reactions in which heat energy is released are called as exothermic reactions e.g.respiration and combustion.

When quick lime(CaO) is added to water calcuim hydroxide is formed with the evolution of large amounts of heat

CaO + H2O======>Ca(OH)2 + heat

Endothermic reactions:

Reactions in which heat energy is absorbed are known as endothermic reactions.

e.g .Themal Decomposition reactions

When Iron sulphate is heated it forms iron oxide with the evolution of gases which have pungent smell(Sulphur Dioxide and Sulphur Trioxide)

FeSO4 + heat======>Fe2O3+ SO2 + SO3

I hope it helps you!!!
