What does reciprocal of gold number indicates???

Gold number is the minimum amount of protective/lyophilic colloid in milligrams which prevents the flocculation of 10ml gold sol by the addition of 1 ml of 10%NaCl solution. Reciprocal of gold number indicates the protective power of a colloid.
