No, she is not wise in doing this. Tricki is a very greedy dog and the overfeeding has resulted in him becoming hugely Mrs Pumphrey takes Tricki's condition to be a result of malnutrition. To help him feel better, she starts giving him malt.  

She calls the doctor to help Tricki. Yes, her decision is wise. The doctor suggests that Tricki should be hospitalized. She gets upset and wails, but lets the dog go with the doctor.

to help tricki and make him more energetic ,she starts giving him a little extra between the meals some malt ,cod -liver oil and a bowl of Horlicks at night .

• I don't think Mrs.Pumphrey is wise in this dogs don't need so much and such diet .it makes them rather fat .and sick .they need more exercise and running around.
