Well, the Speciation means " Development or formation of the new distinct species as the result of evolution"
This term is actually used to represent the process of evolution in which populations evolve with time and becomes the distinct species . 
In 1906 a biologist name  as Orator F.cook was the one who used this term . While the process of evolution and role of natural selection in the speciation  was described by the famous "Charles Darwin" in the year 1859 .
