Because his teacher Crocker Harris not giving him extra marks n he opposingly thinks that his teacher has deduct his marks nor of giving him extra marks because he is a strict teacher.

to be promoted to next class it is declared by the headmaster on the last day of the term. Taplow is not sure of getting remove because his teacher Mr crocker Harris does not tell the result before hand like other teachers. Mr crocker Harris was a strict teacher in matter of discipline and rules & regulations .
