Burzahom was the first Neolithic site to be discovered in Kashmir. It is located on a ' karewa' ... Ash, charcoal and pieces of pottery were found in the pits. Some of the pits had stone.

Burzahom is an archaeological site that located in the Kashmir Valley of India. Archaeologists revealed the history of Burzahom after the excavation that undertaken in between the years of 1930 to 1971.
The excavation carried out by the Yale- Cambridge and found ashes, pots, pottery wheels and more. They concluded the excavation, that Burzahom had revealed the four phases of cultural significance from 3000 BC to 1000 BC.
They concluded that the first two phases represented the Neolithic Era culture, The third phase raveled the megalithic era and the final phase revealed the Post-megalithic era.
