This expression in the chapter, Mrs. Packletide’s Tiger means ‘in the world people’s actions are either determined by hunger or love; but Mrs. Packletide’s actions were determined by her jealousy and dislike against Loona Bimberton. Her primary purpose was to outshine her rival. When Loona Bimberton became famous after taking flight in the airplane with an Algerian pilot, Mrs. Packletide’s sole obsession was to do an adventure that could also make her more famous than her rival.
