Lost Spring by Anne Jung is a narration of traditions and grinding poverty. The story focuses upon the people who have been succumbed and the conditions of the poor children who are forced to work in hazardous and dirty conditions. These poor children belong to slums. The story is divided into two parts, the first part of the story focuses on the ragpickers who have migrated from Bangladesh and writer forms the impression of life about them who now lives in Seemapuri area in Delhi.
Every morning, the author finds saheb in the neighboring club, standing by the fenced gate. He watches two men playing tennis who are dressed in white. He declares that as he likes the game he is happy while watching it from behind the fence.

The author finds Saheb standing by the fenced gate of a neighbourhood club. He is watching two young men, dressed in white, playing tennis. Saheb says that he likes the game, but he is content to watch it standing behind the fence. He goes inside when no one is around. He uses the swing there.
