What does the author try to convey through the story of miss packletide’s tiger

Through the story 'Mrs. Packletide's Tiger', Saki wants to convey the message that often people who considered themselves smart enough to outshine others get outsmarted themselves. The actions of such manipulative people could at times recoil and backfire them.
