This kind of nutrition in plants iscalled the autotrophic mode of nutrition. ... It means that plants have the special capability to make their own food, by using simple inorganic substances to produce organic molecules/substances. They get the energy sources from non-living things such as sun and carbon dioxide.

Autotrophic nutrition is very important! Autotrophic nutrition means that simple inorganic substances are taken in and used to synthesise organic molecules. Energy is needed to achieve this. In photo-autotrophic nutrition light is the energy source.

This are generally done by plants because the make there own food and the donot depend on other animals.
