"The Indian National flag is a tri-colour (saffron, white and green) flag with the navy blue wheel called Ashok Chakra at the centre of flag (in white section). In hindi language people call it 'Tiranga' which means 'teen rangon ka'.
It has designed horizontally. It was implemented on the 22nd July 1947 in the presence of the constituent assembly and it became Indian national flag on 15 August 1947. Venkayya was the man who designed the flag, based on the theme of “swaraj”.
This Ashok Chakra has 24 spoke and it also known as Dharma Chakra or samay Chakra. The occurrence of the Chakra in the flag specifies the solid bond of the Buddhist belief."
