Solution:

  • In the time period of 0 - 20 seconds, the displacement increases with a parabolic form. This means that the object was moving with an acceleration (in this case : retardation).

  • But after 20 seconds, the displacement became constant at 30 metres.

  • Since the position of the object was not changing with respect to time, we can say that the object became stationary.

So, initially object was retarding and then becomes stationary.
