ICDS is a scheme in India and is an government programme. This programmes provide food, pre-school education health check-up and referral services to the children under the age 6 and also to their mothers. This scheme is aimed to improve the health, nutrition and education of the target community.

The main objectives of the programme is improvement in health and nutritional staus of children of age 0 to 6 and pregnant and lactating mothers,

reduction in incidence of their mortamortality and school drop out, provision of firm foundation for proper psychological physical anand social development of child and also of the family.

This is a really helpful and effective policy. The beneficiaries of this policy are pregnant and lactating mothers, women of age 15 to 44 years, children of 0 to 6 years of age.
