Mughal empire marks the beginning of new period .The Mughals were the descendants of two great dynasties. From their mother's side, they were the descendents of Genghis Khan while from their father's side, they were the successors of Amir Timur. We have studied about both of them in the previous chapter but the Mughals felt proud only of their Timurid ancestry only. Each Mughal ruler got a picture made of Timur with himself.
