The narrator says the following things about his village Hosahalli.
- The narrator gives a glowing and praise-filled account of his village Hosahalli.
- He says that the sahibs in England forgot about it and so did their own geographers, hence one cannot find the village on a map.
- Another thing he says is that "If the state of Mysore is to Bharatavarsha what the sweet karigadabu is to a festive meal, then Hosahalli is to Mysore State what the filling is to the karigadabu."
- The narrator also goes on to talk about many special things in his village. He talks about the village doctor, the mangos which are sure to give you a cough, and the flowers from the creeper in the village pond.
