Answer:The note tell us about Jimmy and Bob that they were very good friends and had a strong bond of friendship.The bond was such strong that it made Bob to cover thousand miles to come and meet Jimmy at the appointed  place which they both promised to meet twenty years ago.Jimmy was also there at the appointed place to meet Bob,but when Jimmy saw Bob face he recognized that Bob was a criminal.Jimmy being a police officer, was bound by his duty and as he couldn't arrest his friend himself and he sent another man to do the job.
