The painting shows that when the native americans like the Lakota tribe lived here, in the Great North American plains ,there was diversified economy. They cultivated maize, foraged for wild plants and hunted Bisons. But when the english settlers came here they say it all as wasteful. So they simply killed all the Bisons after 1860s.
