The partially destroyed statue symbolises the futility of human achievements. The statue that once spoke of the grandeur of Ozymandias now stands cold and shattered, devoid of any passion and emotions that it conveyed at one point of time. "Look on my works, ye mighty, and despair!" says the poem regarding Ozymandias, the King of Kings. However, it turns ironical as nothing remained of the great Ozymandias except some remnants and a deserted area surrounding them
