here is your answer

The pH (p stands for power and H stands for the number of H+ ions) of a solution is defined as the amount of H+ ions released by a solution when dissolved in water.

The pH of a solution is inversely proportional with the amount of H+ ions produced by it, i.e. more the pH, lesser the amount of H+ and vice versa.

Hope this helps!!

In chemistry, pH (/piːˈeɪtʃ/) is a scale used to specify how acidic or basic a water-based solution is. Acidic solutions have a lower pH, while basic solutions have a higher pH. At room temperature (25 °C), pure water is neither acidic nor basic and has a pH of 7.
