CIAO,
The emmission of electrons from the metal surface when exposed to light of suitable frequency is called the photoelectric effect.
this is demostrated bt the apparatus having an evacuating tube X containing two electrodes. one connected to a positive terminal and one with negative.when monochromatic light is allowed to shine on cathode,it begins to emit electrons.these e-s are atrracted by posutive terminal or anode causing current movement.
