The poet calls the poetry that he has written will be the living record of his friend because it will be remembered till posterity and no one will be able to destroy it.

The sonnet describes time as rude n unstoppable n says that everthing will be destroyed with time which is power of time

But according to the poet his verses will last till the day of judgement
