What does the poet mean by "and then it is done"?

In Gieve Patel's poem On Killing a Tree the poet have gave a concept of how a man can kill a tree. If we tried to kill a tree with a jab of knife it will can harm the tree but it can not cut the tree. Poet tries to say that after the root to be pulled out, scorching, choking, and Browning, hardening, twisting and withering the tree will die. Poet says 'And then it is done' means finally the tree will die.
