What does the poet mean when he says that he had save some part of the day

Answer: The poet's state of mind changes from sad to happy after the crow shakes the tree and snow falls on the poet. He realises that he had wasted half of the day repenting about what had happened but from now onwards he won't waste the rest of his day.
