Answer:
The setting of the poem, ‘Evicted by the farmer’, by Zim Mnotoza is the discriminatory land seizures. Robert Mugabe, the president of Zimbabwe orchestrated eviction of farms owned by white farmers on account of which they had to face violence.
The poem depicts the pathetic and sad condition of a white farmer (Robert Smart) caused by the seizure of his long owned property, home, and land. Owing to the seizure, his family is forced to live in the open without any facility and amenity. The worst thing about these seizures was these white farmers whose land had been confiscated unlawfully, had to move from one place to another. Their life became chaotic and totally disorganized.
