The 'road' which is being talked about in the poem ‘The Road Not Taken’ refers to nothing but a choice in life. The road was not chosen by any of the people to travel because none of them knew what lied ahead. No one had ever explored that path.

In the same way, the comparison has been made with what we decide to do in our life. Many of us usually take that direction, which everyone seems to be choosing. Because for us, it seems safer, and is in our comfort zone. But the least of the people, decide to stand out of the crowd, and do what nobody else has ever tried.
