The swallow flew over the city and saw beggars and starving children. In a nutshell the swallow saw all categories. He found the rich making merry in their beautiful houses and beggars begging, sitting at the gates of the rich men’s houses. Under the archway of a bridge, it saw two little boys lying in each other’s arms, trying to keep themselves warm in the rain. They were extremely hungry and on top of it, they were asked by the watchman to vacate the archway. The swallow went and told the prince about all it had seen.

When the swallow flies over the city, it sees the sharp difference between the lives of the rich and the poor. He sees the rich making merry in their beautiful houses, while the beggars were sitting at the gates. He flows into dark lanes, and sees the white faces of starving children looking out listlessly at the black streets.
