what does the temperature remain constant at the melting point

the temperature for melting is above the zero degree celsius because when small amount of heat absorbed then the eyes become melt

During a phase transition such as melting a solid to a liquid the temperature remains constant. At any lower temperature the heat provided went to kinetic energy and intermolecular potential energy.
