Hy,
We've memory T cells in our immune system. Let me explain the function of memory T cells with an example,
Suppose a person gets chicken pox in childhood once, then second time he'll never get it as during the first exposure of the disease, memories of the antigen were recorded and formed in T cells. So, second time, antigen was less effective in producing a disease or antigen was killed by T cells.
Hope it helps

Answer:

  • Acquired immunity is pathogen specific and is characterised by memory.
  • This means that when our body encounters a pathogen for first time our body produces a response called primary response which is of low intensity.
  • At the same time memory B and T-cells are produced, which are stored in the lymph nodes and spleen throughout the life.
  • If the same pathogen again enters memory B and T-cells will immediately produce effector B and T-cells.
  • This is called as secondary response.
