shoe respect means that the social dignity which is depicted by the shoes of a person. The conflict between the indians and the british officers related to the wearing of shoes was that the british officers wanted that if the indians remove their shoes before going inside their home or any sacred place they should do the same before entering any government office or coartroom and show respect to the government places and also to show respect for the judge or the governor present inside. This was first appealed by Governor General Amherst. But this was only applicable for the people wearing indian style clothes and not for the people wearing western style clothing.
