Individualism is a moral and political principle that recognises the fundamental worth, dignity and freedom of individuals. It argues that each individual has each individual has certain basic rights and liberties that cannot be curbed by the state or society. It puts the interests and desires of individuals over any supposed notion of collective need of society or state.
