In the poem " Photograph " the poet Gabe importance to the photograph of his mother's childhood. The word " cardboard " denotes the photograph in the poem . Because in those days, the photograph was used to be pasted on the cardboard.

When the days pass , the cardboard gets changed but not the photograph . similarly, the people may leave the world at anytime but the memories are eternal . So ,even the poet's mother wasn't alive , he still remember her by the photograph on the cardboard.
