'On the Road' is a 1957 novel by American writer, Jack Kerouac, that is based on his travel and interactions with a lot of people during the post war Beat and Counterculture generations.
It is based on the life of people that revolves around jazz music, poetry and drug usage.
Kerouac disguises himself as the narrator, Sal Paradise and depicts many important figures of the Beat movement in this novel.
