Sporophyte is plant body which produces spores.

In pteridophytes Sporphyte is dominant life stage. Hence , the plant body differentiated in to roots stem and leaves, what we see , in pteridophytes is Sporophyte. It bears spore producing structure called Sporangia. This sporangia is covered by a leaf like structure and this structure in total is called sporophyll.
