What does 'unilinear division' of time mean?

The part of earth facing Sun is bright and the that is not facing the sun is dark. Earth takes 24 hrs to complete one rotation around its axis. One day is divided into 12 hrs of day time and following 12 hrs of night. Century is completion of 100 yrs. ... This is called unilinear division of time.
