Field Marshall William J. slim says about courage that, Moral Courage is higher and a rarer virtue than courage which means than a person who is morally upright and courageous and who has a greater sense of value for showing moral righteousness than showing physical aggressiveness, naming it as courage.

Sorry couldn't make the answer very long as there is less scope. The question is limited to what William J. slim thought about.

Hope it hepls.

William J Slim compares courage to inner strength. He also states that courage is the virtue that determines all other virtues of people. It is the ability to work with an undeterred mind in any situation. The main characteristics of courage are prompt action, quick decision and strong determination.

While it is easy for one to demonstrate physical courage, it takes a lot more to bring out the inner strength to illustrate moral courage. The character of a person is closely related to his/her moral courage.
