A World Heritage site is a landmark or area which is selected by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) as having cultural, historical, scientific or other form of significance, and is legally protected by international treaties.

World Heritage Site ​is a place (such as a forest, mountain, lake, island, desert, monument, building, complex, or city) that is listed by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization as of having special cultural or physical significance.It is not allowed to be changed or damaged.For example, Taj mahal, Hampi, Mahabalipuram etc are world heritage sites in India.
