The poem Amanda tells us about how a mother always nags at her daughter. But disagrees the fact by saying that anybody will think that she's nagging at her when she truly is. It shows the different kind of thoughts that comes in the mind of daughter in which she thinks about how badly she wants to run away from the situation. She thinks of herself as different things like, Rapunzel etc.
Hope it helps you!!
